PROMISES MADE/PROMISES KEPT – CLERK ANDREWS FUNDS 3RD INSTALLMENT OF COPS GRANT!

PRESS RELEASE

Lake County, [6/29/2023]

Lake County Clerk of Courts Faith Andrews is proud to partner with the Lake County Commissioners and Sheriff Leonbruno in the COPS grant program. As part of this partnership, Clerk Andrews agreed to provide Certificate of Title Surplus funds to the COPS Grant Program over a 4-year period. With this third installment, Clerk Andrews has transferred $1,572,835 to provide revenues to pay for additional Sheriff patrols for the townships of Perry, Painesville, and Concord.

Perry Township was the first to take advantage of the COPS Grant Program in August of 2021. Perry Township Trustee, Robert Dawson, explained that the Perry Township Trustees believe that providing effective and responsive localized policing across their township community is crucial to safer neighborhoods where residents can raise a family, build a home or build a business. Trustee Dawson wrote Clerk Andrews on April 13, 2023 thanking her for funding the COPS Grant Program. He stated that the additional patrols are making a huge difference in Perry Township.

The hard work and dedication of Clerk Andrews and her Title staff make it possible to provide Certificate of Title Surplus funds for this and other essential programs that benefit the people of Lake County. Clerk Andrews understands that safe communities are a crucial component to maintaining a high-quality life and robust economic development opportunities.

Clerk Andrews is pleased to support the COPS grant program and looks forward to continuing her partnership with Lake County Commissioners and Sheriff Leonbruno when she makes her fourth installment in 2024!
